A large creamware mug, circa 1790-1800
Painted in black with a fine Man of War in full sail on choppy waters, a red and white ensign at the stern, above the inscription 'Success to the Royal Navy', red and green floral sprigs flanking the handle, 15.5cm high

Condition
There is a shallow chip to the inside edge of the rim, approximately 1cm wide. There are a handful of very shallow chips to the footrim, just visible in the catalogue photo. Otherwise, the mug is in good condition and is free from any restoration. There are fine scratches to the enamel decoration overall, which can also be seen in the photo.
