This item is a piece of property owned by the Potomac Steamboat Company, extremely rare and originating from Washington, D.C. It was featured in an exhibit for the Supreme Court case MORRIS v. UNITED STATES, circa 1879-1899. The case involved property rights claims by multiple landowners regarding reclaimed land and dredging near the Potomac River, encompassing 600 acres west of the Washington Monument, including notable landmarks such as the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and Potomac Park. Despite the landowners' claims, the Supreme Court ruled against them in 1899. This artifact, in overall very good condition, measures 18" x 14" and comes with guaranteed authenticity.
