A Dollond Culpeper-Type Compound Monocular Microscope, Signed Dolland, London, ca. 1780,
On a square mahogany base with fitted drawer. With five objectives, fish plate, dark cone, talc box, super stage bull's eye, spring stage, tweezers, seven slider specimen holders, Lieberkuhn reflector in case.
Contained in a fitted pyramidal mahogany box. With key.

Box dimensions: H: 18 3/4 x W: 8 1/2 x D: 8 1/4 in.

H: 14 1/4 in.

From the Estate of John A. Davidson, Jr. Proceeds to benefit the APL of Lorain County and the Dittrick Museum.

Condition

Missing trim on wooden base. Chips and losses to drawer front and interior of case. Poor restorations to case. Wear is consistent with age and use. All lots have imperfections or the effects of aging. Gray's Auctioneers shall have no responsibility for any errors or omissions.
