This little percussion pistol is fitted with accoutrements in its original period marquetry dome top box was made by James Squires of England. This form is commonly called a muff pistol, something a lady would carry in her purse or muff. To load them the barrel is unscrewed from the frame with a barrel wrench. Inscribed, "DA", on silver plate on handle. Inscribed, "I. Squires, London", on the stock. Box: 5.75" x 8.25" x 5.75". From the Darryl Silver Collection.

Barrel wrench appears to be missing from the case. The surfaces of the metal components retain a small degree of the original finish. Minor stressline through the right side of the grip.
