Frank Palmieri (1922 - 2017) was a renowned landscape and seascape oil painter known for his evocative depictions of scenes from France, Italy, Mexico, and the United States. Born and raised in New York City, Palmieri's artistic journey began after his service in the Air Force during World War II. He attended the Art Students League on the G.I. Bill, studying under notable teachers such as Reginald Marsh, Ivan Olinsky, Robert Brackman, and Frank Reilly. Palmieri won the Robert Lehman award in 1963, allowing him to study for a year at the National Academy of Design under Morton Roberts.
Throughout his career, Palmieri maintained studios in Ogunquit, Maine, Long Island, and New York City. He relocated to Indialantic, Florida, in 1987. Palmieri received over forty major art awards, including the Grumbacher Award for Outstanding Contribution to the arts in 1969 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Award in 1968. His accolades also include Best in Show awards from the Malverne Artists in 1967 and the National Art League in 1966. Palmieri's works have been featured in numerous one-man shows, and they adorn collections worldwide.
