IMITATION OF LIFE

One Sheet (27" x 41")
Very Fine- on Linen
Universal, 1934

Before linen backing and restoration, this poster had small chips in the borders and lower center point wear. There have been touch-ups to the folds, and the borders have been sporadically airbrushed.

Based on the 1933 novel by Fannie Hurst, this drama stars Claudette Colbert as a widow who befriends and takes in a Black housekeeper (Louise Beavers) and her daughter. In 2007, Time magazine hailed it as one of "The 25 Most Important Films on Race".
