"A continuation of artworks inspired by Lyon. 'Stop playing with it..' is a giant stamp inspired by the sculpture 'Non-Violence' by Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd. I first discovered this iteration of the sculpture outside of Lyon's museum dedicated to the Resistance and deportation. I wanted to reaffirm the non-violent sentiment behind the revolver, which is why I chose to infantilise the use of guns through the paintings title. The revolver itself is painted thin layers of acrylic paint whilst the acid green of the stamp is oil paint, giving a delightful mix of texture and colour.Ready to hang! Painted depth allows you to affix mirror plates and hand the painting quickly.""Having completed my Fine Arts studies and screen printed myself into oblivion during the five following years (with the tendinitis to prove it), I found myself in France. Moving for heart-warmingly romantic reasons, I also saw this as an opportunity to attempt to support myself as an artist. four years later so far so good! Completing painting and drawing commissions for the local and not so local populace has kept me clothed and fed. However as magnificent as these works of people, canines and landscapes are, my heart belongs to much more engaged and lyrical works. Ralph Steadman said it best and most briefly ‘I just don’t like bullies.’ Far away from just an urge to help my fellow human, I believe it all stems from my fascination will all things furry, feathered and wild. To me animals were the original ‘little guys.’ To imagine a walk outside without seeing so much as a (always underrated in the beauty department) pigeon, crushes me, angers me and it’s this mix of fury and love that drives me to make my best work. I have two simple goals in my works, to create something visually engaging whilst shining a spotlight on a worthy subject. If said painting revs a crowd into a riotous fury, to storm the bastille and change things rapidly for the better, well, that would be an excellent bonus. These passages of anger, passion and occasionally, in Spring, joy, are completed in oil paint, acrylic, watercolour, ink and photomontage."
