Measures 47" X 34".The painting was the property of Lord Aldenham, UK, who had it on display as the real Infanta Isabella Clara Eugenia, Archduchess of Austria (1566-1633). The exhibition took place in 1950 in London and was organized by Wildenstein & Co. Ltd. Our research ( see links) shows that at the time, this painting was considered to be the real Rubens painting. Lord Aldenham purchased a lot of sketches and drawings by Rubens which were later were sold at Christie's between 1981-1984. We personally still have doubts and suggest a more in depth research. This lot has a reserve.
