Aaron Burr (1756 - 1836). Vice-President of the United States; Lawyer; Best known for having killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel in 1804. In 1804, Burr learned of Alexander Hamilton's longstanding covert campaign against him arising from their political differences, and this led to their historic duel in which Hamilton was fatally wounded. Manuscript Check Signed. 6 1/2” x 4 ¾”. New York, Nov. 18, 1803. Drawn on the Cashier of Merchants Bank for $750. Signed by Aaron Burr as maker. A few wrinkles. Bank cut cancellation.
