Charles De Gaulle Writes to Cuban Official! PSA Authenticated
ALS, Paris, France, dated January 6th, 1967 and sent to Havana, Cuba. The short note, sent to "Monsieur Jose [surname is not fully visible]" is written on "General De Gaulle" letterhead and expresses sincere wishes for the New Year. The boldly signed 4.5" x 3.5" note card displays a few small surface wrinkles and light toning, but in excellent condition overall. The signature would likely grade a 10. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope accomplished in De Gaulle's hand. Accompanied by a full LOA from PSA.
Charles de Gaulle was a towering figure in French history, best known for leading the Free French Forces during World War II and serving as the founder of the French Fifth Republic as well as its first President from 1959 to 1969. A man of indomitable spirit and a symbol of French resistance, de Gaulle's politics and vision laid the groundwork for modern France. He was noted for his assertiveness on the world stage and his efforts to maintain France's stature and independence in global affairs, including a policy of d?tente with the Soviet Union and a skeptical approach to Anglo-American influence.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
