Eliphalet Remington, Founder of Remington Arms NM-MT 8 Signed Check
Signed Check
Signed check, measuring 3" x 7", dated November 7, 1854, Ilion, NY. Check made out to the order of fifty dollars, signed "E. Remington" in bottom right corner. Slightly uneven edges, with minor creasing and folding throughout. Slight "X" shaped tear to the middle of the check, protected within slab. Overall, very good condition. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA to the overall size of 4.5" x 9.5" and graded NM-MT 8.
Eliphalet Remington (1793-1861) was an American engineer who founded what would become known as Remington Arms. Originally the company was known as E. Remington followed by E. Remington & Son and then E. Remington and Sons. After declaring for bankruptcy in 2020, the business was broken up into several separate companies.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
