Rare 10k Gold Medal, 1" circumference, housed in its original box, and gifted to attendees of the inaugural ball. The gold medal, which due to its fantastic condition, likely hasn't been removed from the box since the inaugural ball, sports a portrait of Kennedy and Johnson on the front and the text "Kennedy - Inaugural Ball - January 20, 1961 - Johnson." In fine condition.

Also included in the lot is an Inaugural Ball invitation, 5.75" x 7.75", dated January 20, 1961, Washington D.C. In fine condition, with some toning.

Keyes had long and storied ties to the Kennedy family. Her father was the dentist to Joe and Rose Kennedy?s children and the families? children became friends. Helen played a major role in JFK?s 1952 Senate campaign, hosting famous ?Ladies? Teas? for the rising star of the Democratic Party. Her involvement continued throughout the Kennedy administration and during both the 1960 and 1964 Presidential campaigns.
