SIGNED BY A FOUNDING FATHER AND SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. Morris served as the Superintendent of Finance during the Revolutionary War, where he effectively managed the Continental Congress’s finances. Morris played a pivotal role in securing loans and financial support for the war effort, often using his personal credit. Despite his significant contributions to the nation's financial stability, he faced financial difficulties later in life and spent time in debtor’s prison.
