2 Dupatta Shawls, India, Mid 20th C. The Dupatta is a long shawl traditionally worn by women in various regional styles across South Asia. Originally, it was worn as a symbol of modesty to cover the head and shoulders. These Dupattas are made of silk with metal thread embroidery. 1) Size: 86'' x 34'' (218 x 86 cm). 2) Size: 80'' x 32'' (203 x 81 cm). Provenance: Ex Yosi Barzilai collection.
