Description
3 Red and Yellow Dupattas Shawls, India, Mid 20th C. The Dupatta is a long shawl traditionally worn by women in various regional styles across South Asia. Originally, it was worn as a symbol of modesty to cover the head and shoulders. These Dupattas are made of silk with metal thread embroidery. Size: ranging from 83.5'' x 45'' (212 x 114 cm) to 91'' x 52'' (231 x 132 cm). Provenance: Ex Yosi Barzilai collection.
