Riabilitato sotto papa Sisto IV, fu bibliotecario della Biblioteca Vaticana dal 1475."Onofrio Panvinio (1530 –1568) è stato uno storico italiano, nonché uno dei più importanti studiosi della storia romana e di quella ecclesiastica.
