Description
A Solid Phalanx Leading to Victory. Lincoln. Johnson. Grant. Farragut. Sheridan. Sherman. Albumen CDV with composite engraved portraits. New Orleans, Louisiana: Leeson's PHotographic Gallery, ca 1864. Photographer's imprint to verso.

Scarce composite image featuring the President, Vice President and top military leaders in the late war. Leeson operated in New Orleans when the city was occupied by Union forces from April 1862 onwards. This occupation explains why such a “Union” image bears the imprint of a southern photographer.
