Description
Rare 19th century Jambiya Decca Arabian Dagger & Carrying Strap or Belt. Country of origin is Yemen. The silver filigree work on this piece is very impressive. Historically the quality of the Jambiya represented the wealth and prestige of the wearer. This Jambiya has very elaborate silver smithing work to the handle carefully and decoratively wrapped in leather which holds it to the belt. The coins on the hilt appear to be gold but we didnt test them. The blade is made of sheet metal which was the norm for the region it came from. The belt has a good amount of wear. Very nice collector knife, blade or dagger. Blade measures just under 13"
