Description
Canadian. Picton, Ontario. 1860. Salt-glazed stoneware. Samuel Skinner owned and operated the Picton pottery from 1855 to 1864. During that time he produced some of the most coveted pieces in private and museum collections. This is a wonderful open crock with character. Stamped, "S. Skinner & Co. / Picton C.W.". 10.75" x 10" x 10". From the William Robert Wilson Collection.
Condition
Isolated crack extending horizontally and vertically through the decoration, but does not reach the top or bottom of the crock. Slight indentation (when manufactured) bottom left of flower decoration.
