A pale celadon jade carving 'hare' with lingzhi, Ming or before (private English collection)

carved in the round, the hare in recumbent with its legs tucked in neatly, its front paws lay together whilst the back legs are tucked into its sides, its delicate ears lay flat atop its back, flowing back freely, its head leans gently to the right, and a sprig of Lingzhi held in its mouth, the eyes, nose and mouth all finely incised, the stone of pale celadon tone with russet inclusions on its left side
