A Pale Celadon Jade 'egret and lotus' Vase, Qing Dynasty (private English collection)
carved as a large lotus leaf with curling edges, supported by a long stem bent upward on one side, an egret carved in high relief perches on the stem and gazes upwards, veins of the lotus leaf finely incised, a lotus flower carved in high relief connected by the stem and curls naturally around the leaf, on the bottom of the vase, three curling stems carved in openwork impressively entwine around the lotus leaf, with wood stand. The stone of even pale celadon tone with patches of russet inclusions
