Description
Southeast Asia, Cambodia, Post-Angkor period, ca. 18th to early 19th century CE. A tranquil brass sculpture of the standing Buddha regaled in royal accoutrements and holding both hands in the vitarka mudra of teaching and discussion with a lotus flower on each palm. Crowned by a conical headdress and brimmed diadem, the figure wears lavish adornments with a broad collar necklace, an elaborate belt, a long skirt, and a cape. His serene visage is comprised of angled brows above slender eyes, a wide nose, and a gentle smile. Size: 2.9" W x 9.9" H (7.4 cm x 25.1 cm); 11.3" H (28.7 cm) on included custom stand.
