RUSSIAN IMPERIAL SILVER KNIFE HOLDER, 1908-1917
This is a Russian Imperial silver knife holder. The cast and pierced supports are intricately decorated with laurel wreaths, adding to its elegance and historical significance.
HALLMARKS: '84' for silver standard, town mark, workmaster's mark in Cyrillic with Imperial warrant.
CONDITION: Very good condition for its age. For further information, please refer to the pictures.
PROVENANCE: 1. From a private old collection, Dania Beach, Florida, USA, 1957-2018; 2. Joshua Kodner, Dania Beach, FL, USA, January 28, 2019 (the winner will receive this information); 3. He's the founder of the famous jewelry legacy House of FABERGE. The House of FABERGE is a jewelry firm founded in 1842 in St. Petersburg, Imperial Russia, by Gustav FABERGE, using the accented name FABERGE, Gustav's sons Peter Karl Faberge and Agathon FABERGE, and grandsons followed him in running the business until it was nationalized by the Bolsheviks in 1918.
