Russian Silver TEA GLASS Holder with molded border and elaborately molded single handle.
The base with 'FABERGE' silver hallmarks, the holder with additional marks outside near top of handle and to handle side, with OWNER's initials, with a matching cut glass tumbler.
INVENTORY NUMBER: There is also a SCRATCH inventory number '40141'. Some of FABERGE items were scratched with numbers (this method was used for internal works in FABERGE shops).
CONDITION: The item is described to the best of our knowledge. Please refer to pictures and email with any questions. Age related wear with traces of gold inside, small dents and scratches.
DIMENSIONS: H. 4 inches (10.5 cm). Weight: 155 grams.

HISTORY: Peter Carl FABERGE was born into a German-Baltic family of jewellers and took over the family's jewelry shop in 1872. Besides working as a jeweller he also worked at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, where he cataloged the jewelry collection together with his brother. FABERGE obtained his breakthrough with the now world-famous FABERGE eggs; the first egg was awarded a gold medal by the Russian Emperor Alexander III. Henceforth, numerous masterpieces were created, many commissioned by the royal family.
