CASED IMPERIAL RUSSIAN FABERGE SILVER FLATWARE SET FOR 24
Late 19th Century
In a fiddle-shaped pattern. Complete service for 24 (minus one knife and three demitasse spoons), including serving pieces, for a total of 143 pieces. All pieces with Imperial Russian Faberge marks; mixed assayer’s marks for Pavel Ovchinnikov (Moscow, 1853-1916), Anatoly Artsybashov (Moscow 1888-1898) and Alessandro Skovronsky (Moscow 1895-1898). Within its original fitted oak case with the House of Faberge mark on the interior.
Approx. 182.6 troy oz.
Provenance:
The estate of Antoine Volkoff, former Consul General of the Imperial Russian Government in Chicago in the 1910’s.
Condition
All with engraved script monograms. Knife blades (original) are mostly as is (rust and corrosion). Knives and ivory handled serving pieces are not included in weight.
