Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Mixtec culture, Postclassic Period, ca. 1200 to 1521 CE. A set of 3 hand-built pottery heads, the largest of which is a playable whistle. One head is adorned with black and red pigment while another is accentuated with white pigment, and the largest is unadorned. Size of largest: 2.6" W x 4.2" H (6.6 cm x 10.7 cm)
Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection; ex-Michael R. collection, Southampton, New York, USA, acquired via descent
