Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque (Jama Coaque), ca. 500 BCE to 500 CE. A set of 5 mold-formed pottery heads that were once attached to larger figures. Each face exhibits almond-shaped eyes, a prominent nose, and a tall cap, all with remains of applied decorative pigment. Size of largest: 2.375" L x 2.375" W x 2.4" H (6 cm x 6 cm x 6.1 cm)
Provenance: ex-collection of the late Peter Arnovick, San Francisco, California, USA, acquired before 1995

Condition
All are fragments are larger figures. Each head with light earthen deposits, fading to pigment, and softening to some finer details, otherwise in very good condition.
