Description
Pasquale Masiello (1912-1987). "Washington Bridge, Providence, RI". Etching. Signed & titles in pencil, lower margin. Artist Proof. Signed in plate as well. Dimensions: 7" x 8"; framed under glass: 13 1/2" x 15 1/2". We could not resist offering this view of the Washington Bridge in Providence. Now infamous as the "bottleneck" of RI traffic for the next 6 months, collectors can claim this lot and tell their grandkids about their 6-month struggle to get into Providence during the bridge re-construction.An accomplished painter & printmaker, Masiello's etchings are of high quality. His imagery of local Rhode Island landmarks makes them particularly collectable among New Englanders. Masiello graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1935 and studied with John Frazier in Provincetown. No reserve on this lot.
