Description
Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A hand-carved omphacite jade pendant depicting the stylized face of a male wearing a sweeping helmet as well as a large rectangular ear spool. The oblong carving exhibits a biconically drilled suspension hole through the widest section that indicates it was worn on a necklace as a pendant. The vibrant hues of sage and apple-green create a wondrous presentation when seen in person. Size: 0.39" L x 0.75" W x 1.03" H (1 cm x 1.9 cm x 2.6 cm)
