Chinese Ming Dynasty Pottery Bowl w/ Floral Tondo (ca. 1368 to 1644 CE). Size: 8 inches Diameter x 3 3/8 High. A beautiful pottery bowl presenting a rounded bottom and slender walls that span outwards to a broad rim, all upon a ring-form base. The entirety of the vessel is enveloped in creamy white glaze, and the basin boasts a blue-painted decorative tondo filled with an intricate floral motif. Liberal remains of fugitive pigment forming a vine-like vegetal pattern additionally embellish the interior and exterior walls. Condition: A few nicks and abrasions, as well as some stable surface fissures near rim. Otherwise, intact and excellent with nice remaining pigments and detail. Encrustations to foot. Provenance: ex-Artemis Gallery auction, ex-private Lumberton, TX collection.
