Description
A fine pair of carved wooden twin idols , male and female known as Ibeji, with well handled surface patina as well as indigo dyed coiffure and a stunning beaded coat which was made for the twin pair. Yoruba peoples, Nigeria, West Africa. The dolls measures 10.5 inches tall x 3.25 inches wide. Not counting the bead jacket which measures 15 x 8 inches when flat. Provenance: Ex Danny Simmons collection, Philadelphia, USA.

Good, very well handled and worn, coat is well worn condition.
