A pair of carved wooden Ibeji twin idols with highly stylized facial treatment and exaggerated coiffure and features. The Pair are both well handled and worn, suggesting traditional ritual use. Yoruba peoples, Nigeria, Africa. The pair are custom mounted to an old wooden base and measure 14 inches tall x 9.5 inches wide. Provenance: The Daniel Simmons collection, Noted Artist, Philadelphia.
