An 18th century Dutch silver kettle 'bouilloire' on stand
Pieter de Keen, Amsterdam, 1730
Of pear form, the upright swing-handle with scroll arms and carved ebony wood grip, waisted neck with applied band of tassels and scrolls, the compressed bellied lower body with three anthemion motifs, faceted spout issuing from a stylised leaf drop and scroll surround, fixing lug below to join stand, the stand with pierced scrolls and lattice panels, with applied scroll and swing-drop handles either side, on three scroll feet joined with pierced scroll aprons each centred with a drapery panel, pull-off dome cover with applied shell and scroll motifs and leaf cone finial, 28cm wide, 22cm deep, 41cm high, (28in wide, 8 1/2in deep, 16in high), weight total 78.5 troy oz, weight total 2432gms.

Condition
No apparent marks to the cover, slightly mishaped edge to the inside flange, cover fits well and tight.
Marks to underside of the kettle struck over two test scrapes (see image), therefore a little distorted at points but distinguishable.
Overall, light surface scratches and with some more light surface / contact marks to the lower bellied sides, more so to front left side of spout.
Stand piercing remains good and good shape, one small shallow bruise.
Hallmark to underside of stand struck close to rim, but remain clear and distinguishable, also with zig zag test scrape.
Minimal surface wear, some light pitting to the moulded lower rim and scroll feet.
Removable burner is unmarked, shape good with light surface scratches and light pitting, fits well.
Marks to underside of the kettle struck over two test scrapes (see image), therefore a little distorted at points but distinguishable.
