A 17th century Dutch silver two-handled brandy bowl
Theodorus Huigen, Harlingen, 1684
Of octagonal form, each of the open-work scroll handles centred with an oval reserve, the panelled sides engraved with figural scenes, within circular and oval reserves, surrounded by scroll work and incorporating stylised masks, short moulded rim with narrow gadroon band, the spreading cast octagonal foot with cherubs and fruit in relief, 21.5cm high, 12.5cm deep, 9cm high (8in wide, 4 1/2in deep, 3 1/2in high), weight 9.1 troy oz, weight 281.6gms.

Condition
Hallmarked to underside of base rubbed. They appear a little distorted but just identifiable.
Overall surface bright, engraving a little rubbed, polished but remains well defined.
Test scrape under handles, also test scrape to underside of base, inside rim. Underside rim of foot with engraved initials 'IIAC' and another test scrape.
Interior surface a little uneven.
