Albany, NY, 3 January 1929. Roosevelt thanks Engargola for his kind letter of congratulations. He says that he is impressed with the "objects and purposes of the National Juniors." One page, 8 x 10 in. (separations to creases with some taped repair, soiling, loss). On State of New York Executive Chamber letterhead. TRUMAN, Harry S. (1884-1972). TLS ("Harry S Truman"), to Mr. Lowell Thomas. Independence, MO, 10 October 1967. Truman thanks Thomas for pictures and articles sent to him. One page, 7 1/4 x 10 1/2 in. (staple punctures to upper left). On personal stationery. With printed envelope bearing facsimile signature of Truman. -- TLS (Harry S Truman"), to Democratic National Congressional Committee Chairman Michael J. Kirwan. Independence, MO, 29 October 1957. Truman expresses his appreciation for the privilege of being present at the "Columbus meeting," and applauds San Rayburn's speech. One page, 7 1/4 x 10 1/2 in. (old folds). On personal stationery. -- DS ("Harry S Truman") 4 March 1932. Truman approves the taking of private property for the widening and relocating of a public road, and ordering the County Highway Engineer to survey, mark out and describe said road and identify property to be taken. One page, 8 1/2 x 14 in. (holes punched at top, some light creasing, wear to edges). -- And 3 other items including a White House News Photographer's Association Annual Dinner program and 2 half tone images of Truman. -- Together, 6 items related to Harry S. Truman. [With:] ROOSEVELT, Eleanor (1884-1962). TLS ("Eleanor Roosevelt"), to Mary Sanger Frank. New York, NY, 21 November 1932. Roosevelt thanks Ms. Frank for her letter of congratulations, almost certainly referring to Roosevelt's victory in the presidential election. One page, 6 x 6 7/8 in. (creased). On personal stationery. -- TLS ("Eleanor Roosevelt"). Hyde Park, NY, 17 August 1951. Roosevelt answers a Mr. Breithaupt's apparent question about Jesus Christ. In part: "I really think that what one thinks of Christ is a very personal thing..." One page, 6 x 7 in. (creased along central fold). On Val-Kill Cottage stationery. -- Photograph of Eleanor Roosevelt walking with two other women. 7 x 9 in. press print (toning, soiling, creasing). Verso bears Associated Press stamp and ink caption reading, in part, "Mrs. Garner & Mrs. White met Mrs. Roosevelt to escort her to the Ladies [indecipherable] social luncheon..." -- Together, 3 items related to Eleanor Roosevelt. [Also with:] TRUMAN, Elizabeth V. (1885-1982). ALS ("Bess V. Truman"), To Mrs. Joseph E. Casey. Washington, DC, 1949.
