Description
Near East / Central Asia, Turkey / Syria / Iran, ca. 2000 to 1000 BCE. A pair of stone stamp seals, each pierced for suspension. The disc shaped stone is marked on both sides with stippled motifs - a horned animal - possibly a goat or antelope, and a curbed linear pattern that was labeled as an abstract Gayomard (the primordial giant in the Zoroastrian religious tradition), or possibly represents another Zoroastrian symbol. The other seal is a square shape with a small handle and stylized deer / antelope on the face. Size of discoidal seal: 0.8" Diameter (2 cm)
