Description
A very rare, outstanding, antique circa 1880s Victorian And Albert Museum, London UK, souvenir piece inspired by the Burgonet Helmet of King Henry II of France. The exquisite hand carved Mother of Pearl sculptural seal with the warrior's bust is mounted on a gilt brass stand. The pedestal is decorated with relief and engraved ribbed, floral, foliage motifs. The Renaissance Parade Helmet is crowned with an heraldry dragon. A hand carved Carnelian intaglio, on the bottom with a coat of arms intaglio. The circa 1910s intaglio has hyper detailed carvings of a coat of arms and a latin inscription of Non Nobis Sed Omnibus, translated as not to us but to all. The design of the coat of arms on the carnelian intaglio belongs to Graham Baron Ash, as displayed until today in the Great Hall at Packwood House. Warwickshire, England.
