Tianhuang Stone is the most precious and rare seal stone; this one belonged to one late Qing Dynasty writer. It came with the original fitted Zitan wood presentation box, preserving the Fou-decorated Tianhuang seal. Seal measures approx. 1-3/4" height x 7/8" width x 3/4" depth (4.5cm x 2.2cm x 1.9cm). Stone weight approx. 35.1 grams. Provenance: Professor Wu Jilu's Chinese porcelain collection of Sung & Ming Dynasty ceramics. Prof. Wu Jilu was a professor in Chinese Literature and an avid collector of Chinese porcelain antiques, especially those with strong Sung Dynasty style & flavor. He owned a collection of over 100 items from China’s Sung, Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. He had purchased most of those collections from various antiques shops and small auction houses across the world over the past 25 years. Some of his antique collections were auctioned by major auction houses, such as Sotheby’s and China’s Guardian Auction in Hong Kong.
