(A partial list of signatures follows.) Also included is an envelope with black mourning border containing a royal summons to an afternoon reception in the garden of Buckingham Palace on July 21, 1936; and a 1928 menu for a dinner aboard the S. S. Leviathan with "Miss Frances Bosworth Entertains at Dinner, Miss Della Bosworth, Mr and Mrs. G. H. Bosworth, on board Flagship leviathan, Sunday, July 15, 1928." Signatures include: then Vice President Richard Nixon; J. Edgar Hoover; Henry Cabot Lodge; Wernher Von Braun; Thomas E. Dewey; Head coach, Chicago Bears, George S. Halas; writer and broadcaster Lowell Thomas; University of Chicago President and philosopher Lawrence A. Kimpton, Chicago White Sox owner Bill Veeck; U. S. Airforce General Curtis E. LeMay, Lewis L. Strauss (known for his role in the downfall of Robert Oppenheimer,) Secretary of Labor James P. Mitchell; Herbert Hoover Jr.; journalist and television presenter John Charles Daly; Everett McKinley Dirksen; Sec. of the Treasury Robert B. Anderson; Johns Hopkins university President Milton S. Eisenhower; Senator Jacob K. Javitz; Radio and television commentator Clifton M. Utley; Senator Sinclair Weeks, author and television host Bergen Evans, and many more, fifty-one signed letters in total. Those listed (and others) include the signature of the person named. There are other letters on the letterhead of persons of historical interest, but they are signed by a secretary or assistant. The only person who accepted was Lawrence Spivak of Meet the Press, who requested a speaking fee of $1000.
