Description
Native American, Northwestern United States, Columbia River Plateau region, Nez Perce, ca. 1940s CE. A beautiful horse mantle shaped from a length of buckskin with a cloth underlayer. The rectangular cloth features a soft cream hue with 2 panels of polychrome embroidery, each with colorful triangular motifs, and the lengthy ends are cut into lengthy tassels that move and sway with ease with jostled. Size (w/ tassels): 101" L x 13" W (256.5 cm x 33 cm)
