Description
Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 600 BCE. A cast-bronze figurine of a double-sided horse with a mutual body, 2 heads, and 2 pairs of opposite-facing legs, and with an integral suspension loop atop the back. Each head exhibits a central crest above a pair of ovoid eyes, and ringed collars or ornamentation decorate each neck and chest. Size: 3.9" L x 1.25" W x 3.5" H (9.9 cm x 3.2 cm x 8.9 cm)

Chipping to patina, with small nicks to body, legs, and heads, and light earthen deposits, otherwise intact and great. Wonderful patina throughout, and great preservation of equine form.
