State Senator John E. Powers form letter with printed facsimile signature from the John F. Kennedy - Paul A. Devers Headquarters. The letter was issued on October 1952 to Democratic Workers to organize committees to help get voters to the polls to vote.
Paul A. Dever was the 58th Governor of Massachusetts and its youngest-ever attorney general. He had built up a strong political machine in MA and had been widely considered a potential candidate for the United States Senate in 1952, which was also being sought by John F. Kennedy. After Dever informed Kennedy that he was running for governor again, the two formed a joint campaign committee, but Kennedy maintained his distance from Dever and his campaign. The result as that Kennedy captured the Senate seat whereas Dever was narrowly defeated by Christian Herter for governor.
The letter measures approximately 8.5 x 11". Overall in excellent condition with light age and toning.
