“Śakoontalá; or The Lost Ring: An Indian Drama” is a translation by Monier Williams of Kálidasás “AbhijñÄnaÅ›Äkuntala”. It narrates Shakuntalas life, a character from the ancient Indian epic “Mahabharata”. She falls in love with King Dushyanta, marries him, and receives a ring as a promise of his return.
