A wonderfully abstract and twisted ancestor sculpture with a well weathered and well handled surface from the Dogon peoples, Mali, Africa. The figure, likely represents o Hogon or village elder or shaman Priest was carved from a single piece of naturally twisted wood, creating quite a wonderful form. The figure measures 24 inches tall on custom display stand. Provenance: Ex Leonard Kahan Gallery, New York, 1980s, Ex McConnell collection, VA.
