Description
Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast, United States or Canada, KwakwakaĆ­wakw, Haida, or Tlingit, ca. 19th to early-20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden club hand-carved from a single piece of hard wood, traditionally this tool was used for clubbing fish / seals once a fisherman have extracted them from the water. The piece is carved with intricate formline totemic motifs and zoomorphic figures, including an orca (killer whale). Size: 18" L x 2" Diameter (45.7 cm x 5.1 cm)
