Item Details
Description
Roman, Imperial period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. An attractive, hand-blown, rich olive green glass jug form with a piriform body with a slender neck, a folded trefoil spout, and an elegant, trifurcated trail of glass for the handle joining shoulder to rim. The underside is slightly dimpled. Beyond its impressive form is the inherent beauty of the glass which has developed marvelous internal silvery and rainbow iridescence over the years. Size: 2.5" Diameter x 5.4" H (6.4 cm x 13.7 cm); 5.9" H (15 cm) on included custom stand.
