Description
Roman, Eastern Mediterranean, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A striking glass jug with a concave base and rough pontil scar, a cylindrical body with pattern-molded ribs, a tapered shoulder, a flared rim with an in-folded lip, and a broad trail handle on the verso. Layers of stunning rainbow-hued iridescence have developed from centuries of wear and create a dazzling presentation worthy of any discerning collection! Size: 2.75" L x 2.8" W x 5.5" H (7 cm x 7.1 cm x 14 cm)

Condition
Small chips to top of handle lip, with light earthen deposits and weathering film, and micro-bubbling within glass matrix, otherwise intact and excellent. Great preservation to overall form and fantastic iridescence throughout. Pontil scar is still sharp.
