Native American, Southwestern United States, Mesa Verde region, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 1100 to 1300 CE. A hand-built pottery mug of utilitarian form with a planar base and a thick strap handle. The exterior of the vessel is decorated with elaborate bands of varied linear motifs painted in black so as to as stand out. Size: 4.2" L x 3.5" W x 3.8" H (10.7 cm x 8.9 cm x 9.7 cm)

Condition
Repaired with areas of restoration to rim and body, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and expected nicks, with light pitting, and minor fading to pigment. Nice preservation to original motifs in most areas.
