ANTIQUE / VINTAGE ART NOUVEAU AND OTHER FLORAL / FOLIATE METAL BELT OR DRESS BUCKLES, LOT OF 15, each one or two-part form having gilt-brass, silver-toned, or other metal frame featuring Art Nouveau floral designs, including a gilt openwork buckle with gingko leaves, a large openwork example with black lacquered finish, a silver-toned buckle with center rose flanked by ornate scrolling leaf motifs having florets to bases, and a silver-toned buckle with strawberry designs to sides and presented on a ribbon belt/sash. Gilt gingko leaf buckle with "PAT. AUG. 20. 1901" mark on clasp, silver-toned buckle with center rose having "COLONIAL" mark for Colonial Bead Co. of New York City, NY, remainder unmarked. Together with a pair of small scrolled-designed slide buckles. 17 pieces total. Late 19th/first half 20th century. Large black-lacquered buckle 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" OA.

Most in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including worn spots/losses to metal finishes, one or a few spots of oxidation, slight bending, and/or one or a few repairs; silver-toned buckle with roses, scrolls, and beading lacking clasp components; large gilt-brass/metal buckle with prong front probably lacking second piece for clasp; oval one-part buckle possibly later soldered piece to bar on back or lacking a component to back.
