NOTES / REFERENCES : Gabriel Moulin was born in San Jose in 1872. By the age of 12, Gabriel was already apprenticing with San Francisco's leading photographer of the day, Issac W. Tabor. Shortly before 1900, he left Tabor to join in partnership with R. J. Waters and Co. This association lasted until the 1902 Great Quake, when Moulin went out on his own, recording the devastation and rebirth of San Francisco. A leading commercial photographer during the 1920's, his sons joined their father's business.
